Evidence from Cardiff PSE Advisory Teacher and Healthy Schools

In response to question 6 of the inquiry, ‘The extent to which the Designed to Smile programme has been integrated into wider local and national initiatives such as the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes and Flying Start’:

The Designed to Smile scheme is promoted to schools through the ‘Hygiene’ action area of our Healthy Schools Scheme and the effectiveness of the initiative is assessed during Healthy Schools accreditations at participating schools. The initiative is also promoted at Healthy Schools events and within network meetings with relevant agencies. Links are starting to be made with our Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme.
